another lack of updates

yeah. yeah. I've been super lazy on the posting. I had a good thing going for a while but then, like I stated before, it becomes a little much to keep up with all the action.

I'm going to try to be a little more conscious about posting but I'm not making any promises. One of my 360s went down again. I'm positive that it falls within the 3% unrepairable margin. It's still under warranty from the guy who has fixed it two other times so he's going to take another look at it. This would be the fifth time it had to be fixed since I've been in possession of it. A friend of my sister's fixed it twice before but he was out of work then and I couldn't bother him for a third try. The person who I take it to now noticed that the fan is really weak and suggested I get a fan mod but the true problem may be more sinister. I'll have to talk to him at length about possible issues and see what he said. So far i think i put a little more money in this than I should have already but oh well.

So what does this all have to do with anything? Since this was my extra 360 that was gathering dust, I wanted to see if it was fixable in the first place. This new person got it up and running and has been in my room connected to my desktop for capture and streaming purposes.... well it's just more comfortable to play in my room without having to worry about someone wanting to watch something in a communal area. Since she (my 360) is rendered incapacitated for the time being, I'm that much farther behind in getting into the flow of SSFIV. It has been difficult enough to only get a few hours in on the weekends and with this new RROD, I'm set back another week, not working my core. I have yet to test out my new capture software with the 360 as she died just before I could try.

Looks like more TvC is underway. I do plan on testing my streaming capabilities once more with the new capture card if I get some downtime. It's a long weekend and life > video games. If you don't agree with me then that probably means you have trouble living yours.

people need to be open to change

So the backlash for the control scheme regarding MvC3 rages on. I just checked out the MvC3 facebook page and read a quote from Killian.

I'm getting annoyed. I'm sure a vast majority of them have not played TvC and don't really have a basis on their hate on it. I remember when I went to the SSFIV launch party, that came up and a lot of them didn't even know Zero was in the game. They haven't even tried it and yes it's strange at first but its so intuitive for being so simple. Sometime simplicity yields complexity. It feels so natural to move from normal to normal. I love the L, M, H format and i foresee less issues with tagging partners on accident and vice versa. If the controls add two assist buttons, those will work like the partner buttons. So much easier to switch out. Hold back plus whatever assist character you want and there you go or command tag and you got one hell of a chombo going on. the code named "exchange" button looks like a cool element. They might have picked that up from TvC with random launchers when you didn't call out for them. They also have some sort of other functionality. It might mean that H won't end air chombos now and you might be able to juggle more with a stronger attack.

I think people are getting all tight assed cuz they're afraid of change. That's understandable. They want things to remain the same. It felt really strange at first to play TvC but when i went back to MvC2 i so wished that game had the 3 attack layout. It's just so cumbersome. MvC3 will play like MvC2. There's no doubt about that. The controls will be alike TvC but the action and dynamics will have MvC2 spam assist, assist the spam, spam the fucking assist bullshit. Fuckers need to be happy that they're even addressing the whines. seriously people -- OMG! GTFO!

aya on the juri short anime

I don't know. I think there's a reason why the US division or the company as a whole decided not to release the anime outside of Japan. Everyone should know that Capcom likes to milk every last drop out of all properties they have and this shouldn't be any different. They've hired a bunch of people to create that short. I doubt they did that out of the goodness of their hearts and just to be part on the SSFIV project. I'm sure it wasn't cheap for Capcom to pull that off either.

So, I'm sure they will release it in some form or fashion that makes it accessible to the rest of the world. It doesn't make any sense for them to have it English dubbed yet only release it in Japan. This is assuming the English cast did work on the entire thing but why go through all the trouble to add voice to the trailer and not the whole thing?

sigh. people need to shut up already. Even if they decide not to release it (highly unlikely... people like myself would not mind paying to own a copy) it'll either be up on youtube or BakaBT will have it if they don't already do.

blah... all you whiners OMG! GTFO!

my first ragequit of SSFIV!

lol. the one time i can't get my taunt out. So yeah... Once a rage quitter, always and forever a rage quitter. Hopefully, all his ragequits will come back to haunt him one day.

cross counter FTW!

Sigh... Sensei told me that the Bison tried to ultra but all that came out was a teleport. It annoyed the crap out of me and he should have just finished me off instead of trying to go for the flashy finish. Sounds like a recurring theme with people...

sigh. I should have supered into the ultra instead. It would have ended his bullshit earlier.

control yourself... take only what you need from it

sigh... this is what happens when I wait to blog everything later. I run out of stuff to say. lol.

OMG GTFO! moment #001

I capture a lot of stuff so I decided to make my own series of moments as I do.

dabbol K.O.!

lol... maybe I'll do an audio swap and put in that Daigo vs. Justin Wong track over this one day.

10G - Road to Victory

sick achievement unlock, bro!

it's gonna be me

Since it's double blinded, the fact that it became a mirror match was by coincidence. Extra lols for song selection.

I was fighting a flow chart Ken but I haven't fought one with Makoto yet. Sensei just target chombo'd him to death. LOL. He didn't adapt very well against the same attack... he must be flow charting wrong then.

take a bow

So yeah I didn't realize how many matches we got against massacre sucks1.

Well here we go with Sensei sporting his "Issa Me! Ah Wario!" threads. I think he was just testing out colors. I also have good reason to believe he was checking to see the speed of his ultra too.

KOF '89

lol... i just picked an arbitrary year.

don't want no paper... chins

There was a picture Sensei linked me yesterday. I'll have to dig it up later but that Juri's bp isn't a good representation of the skill level of someone that should be at that amount. Sensei tore through Juri fairly easily. I guess Juri is the new Ken currently. Guy gave Dudley some problems but the third round was a clear victory.

get over yourself... it's time to learn!

Another team battle! This time, I get some action. Sensei was still testing out Dudley and I was testing out Adon right before this match. sickthink decided to stay and this is the result.

He soundly beat my Adon but that's a given since it was my second time using Adon online. After he beat Sensei, I couldn't guarantee my opponent's victory once more. Sakura was called upon again. His Sagat did his best to control space. I think he was expecting me to rush or jump in a lot. Despite every fiber of my being telling me to get in there as quickly as possible, I put some restraint. This seemed to work to my advantage. He misread my next move on a few occasions. I don't think I was baiting any time of advances but I guess he was thinking I'd move in when I didn't.

In the first round, I hit him with what many would call a "random" ultra. I knew full well he was going to try to tick or punish the EX shunpu and I guess that's about it! ^_~ During the second round, he did a better job at maintaining the distance where he had a the advantage. I also started to hesitate a bit and that ended in a loss. The final round went down to the wire I guess. He mixed up being aggressive and zoning as best he could but poor choices in trying to figure out my movements lead to seemingly "random" tiger uppercuts. He had the lead but instead of going for the kill, he kept away from me. Taking too long to finish me off leads to bad things happening. Three good normals brought him down to nothing and he assumed I would continue my assault. He threw out a very "random" ultra in hopes he could catch me trying to close the gap but was wrong. That's his bad. EX shunpu for the win. ^_^

first team battle of 5/02/2010

I don't have a "witty" title for this entry... lol.

One of many other team battles to be uploaded. This one was split due to the 10 minute time limit on youtube. I'm sure I could get away with having it a little over but I'd rather not risk wasting all that time in the initial render to go back, split the video, and wait for both to render one at a time.

I was still trying to feel my way with Adon. Sensei was testing out Dudley also. He just fared a whole lot better than me. lol.

look, this isn't fun and games HANH!

Sensei tells me that he was trying his best or something but I was highly annoyed. This is the reason why I'm probably not going to using the replay channel so much for team battles because all the fights get separated and it's a pain for me to save all of them and capture it.

At any rate, This guy stayed for a little bit actually. This might have been the third team run and he beat us the first two times. I was testing out Adon the previous times and Sensei stuck with Fei Long. He seemed to just toy with us and that kind of got under my skin.

Each time he would just quite literally throw the first round. Just would backflip and let us beat him but then he would continue to mess around. In one of the matches with Sensei, I think it was actually the match just before mine because I was second in the team that time, he would sit there and Sensei would just not do anything either. LOL. really funny now that I look back at it but it irritated me cuz he wasn't taking us seriously. So that round all they did was taunt and look like they were dancing. Eventually Sensei lost and it was my turn.

I didn't want to bring out Sakura but he was bugging me with all his bullshit. As you could see, he took the first round and actually came out to fight for a little bit. The second round was when the tide of battle turned in my favor and since then I never looked back. He still wanted to play around and just like in every game I play, you don't want to take me lightly. Go for the kill every single time because the moment you let your guard down it's over. I wasn't really focusing on getting a perfect, I just wanted to as Sensei puts it get in "dat azz." It was a definitive win and he left not long after.

there's no easy way out!

So at any rate, this MINI Pez gave me problems. He had an El Fuerte that owned me but didn't fool Sensei. He stuck around for a few matches actually but only to try to beat Sensei. His Juri beat Fei Long once but since then Sensei caught on and streaked him a few times. I lost count but this was the final win from Sensei. The next match was close but MINI Pez got the win and left soon after.

Yeah this is off of a saved replay so that's why you can't see the other fights. Needless to say, Sensei carried the team that night.

don't be so quick to walk away

As stated in the description, this is the first match video of SSFIV I uploaded! I didn't do so well as I was still in the process of finding out Makoto's range as well as the properties of her moves. Sensei on the other hand, didn't share my problem. lol. That Adon threw out way too much shit and tried to just power his way through the match.

well then... let's begin

Yeah, I'm really behind with posting and such. It's pretty demanding to do all this and I don't even know of it's really worth all of the effort. Who am I kidding? It's hard work but I'm proud of what becomes of it.

Blogging explanations is the final step but by the time things finish rendering and uploading, I'm really not in the mood to follow up. lol.

At any rate, my channel will be gearing more towards SSFIV but other matches from other games will be thrown into the mix. It's funny how some of this stuff evolves though. I originally created my YouTube channel just to rally support to get Rage of the Dragons on GGPO. If any of you are familiar with it, please request Rage to be put on there. Since then though, I've managed to pull out some old video capture devices to record other matches, namely Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. This blog was actually to document ragequits but has also risen above such.

Summer is approaching so that means BlazBlue: Continuum Shift season will get underway. TvC and MvC2 are also stuff i want to add as well as some RotD action with Sensei for old times' sake if it's possible and maybe some Garou matches should i feel like going back to that. I'm also looking into a new capture device to further improve video quality. Hopefully i could get it soon.

Daigo vs. Justin Wong... off the record

I was there! ^_^

I'll admit that I didn't realize that these two were finally facing off. I think during that whole thing, I was getting some time in with Makoto at one of the kiosks. LOL. At any rate, this is only the very last round of the whole set. I didn't see the rest of the match so things can be taken out of context very easily just by taking into account this one round.

I guess I'm saying it could go both ways. It could have been staged because of the massive lead Daigo had and it just so happened to end in a dabbol kay oh. On the other hand, crazy things have happened in the past and it did end in a dabbol kay oh. What are the chances of that happening? Either way, it solidified the whole "get hype" campaign and engraved itself into SF folklore history.

speculated characters

OMG!!! FELICIA! no surprise about weak the... being there.

IT'S MAH-VEL BAYBEE!

yay! another vs. game! good time to be alive.

I remember reading some stuff on the SRK forums. A lot of people were complaining (already... i know. sounds like pre SFIV talk all over again) about how the game would look. Let's whine about shit and not be happy they even were able to announce it. We already know that Capcom's policy is for 2.5d type visuals. Judging by the trailer, it seems to have more shading than TvC. I think they might go for a detailed comic book look. Whatever. I like what i see, espcially Morrigan. It's her best modern model to date.

In the announcement thingy at game trailers, the producer talked a little more about it. It seems that they've been working on the game since MvC2 came out. All the legal stuff was done well ahead of actual game development and they started back in 2008. That's one hell of a secret to keep. Then again I think people were distracted with SFIV.

Hopefully they keep Sakura, Cammy, and Felicia but the roster is going to be around 30... Still a big line up but it makes the inclusion of Sakura and Felicia less likely to happen. The producer said both companies have grown with new IP so they're looking for the most popular as well as best fit for the game. I'm sure the characters are already decided upon by now. Well we'll see what happens. did I mention that i'm excited?

new SRK avvy

Shoryuken Forums Avvy

i dont know why i'm so tired. I'm going to bed after this post but I spent my time after dinner constructing an avvy for the SRK forums. I'm not very active but if there's a small chance i could customize something, I will.

finally, a los angeles fight club

They finally posted some info about what's going down. I'm so going down there... The line is going to be horrible though. I know it is... A bunch of justin wong looking kids are going to make up the people who are going to camp out the night before. I don't know if i want to spend my friday with people like them. Maybe I might get a better chance of getting a free copy and other stuff if i dress up like weak the...

スタナー!!!

I finally found a decent video codec! It might work with RotD and GGPO matches so I'm excited! I'll have to test it out sometime.

This game is pretty cool even though I just got it. It's been out for a while now but I just never got around to downloading it. I intended to use Kaede first but my first time on the game, I didn't know how the character select worked and I picked Lilith. She is so fun to play with just cuz her moves do massive damage if they land. She has no forward dash... only a back dash... and that kinda sucks. On a wiki page, it states that her super deals out 46% to 51% damage depending on the defense of the opponent but it seems like it does more. You can't tell in the video since I pulled it out at the end of the match. I'm not good at 360 motion driven moves.

I downloaded the netplay client but i doubt i'll ever get a match against a human opponent. Maybe Sensei might want to play with me but that's a long shot. The game itself is totally free and it doesn't take much to run it. It's just kind of hard to find the build that runs on US systems.

get on the dance floor...

quite a few character themes were uploaded recently. I'm still looking for makoto's and juri's.

I'm not a fan of Cody but this is from famous Sakura user, Sabre.

princess of darkness - dark aya!

er... i mean Dark Eir.

As if I didn't have enough games to keep up with. DFO is super fun but they use P2P connections to party up and for some reason Sensei and I always lag out. Lunia has been around for ages but its the closest thing to DFO and doesn't rely on unstable P2P connections. I'm just happy it actually runs on my computer! It's even running on the "high end" settings so that tells you how old this game is.

Sigh... I have to post about my latest matches and redo another match TvC match vid... that won't happen for a few days though.

breakfast with zangief

interesting. there was a juri han song posted earlier but i hate kesha. The juri song was a parody of tick tock i think. really can't stand that kesha.

ibuki... on the scene!

not bad.

sooo cute....

I'm doing my rounds online and I came across something on kotaku. THE FLYING HAMSTER!

sooo cute. Shooters are pretty cool for quick break but I really usually don't care for them. Some of the themes are... questionable at times (check out the picture of the loli shooter) but whatever.

DOA Paradise also just came out so I have reasons to dust off the old PSP.

so... invincibility frames is the key?

I guess I could see why the devs would leave that unblockable mechanic in. Both the unblockable and the counter require enough awareness to execute both so よくやった!!!

Thursday, April 1, 2010

a better look at unblockables in SSFIV

so yeah even Sakura could exploit the quick recovery mechanic of this game. Weak the-- I mean Chun-Li also can do it but it's not shown in the video above. Most of them involve projectile characters and the opponent tech rising or whatever after a knock down. sigh. I gotta calm down and not be so eager to get into people's grills like imma steal something. ^_~

BlazBlue X Arcana Heart 3

I missed it! they took the page down but so far one of the best april fools jokes I've seen so far.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

possibly another joke...

Yeah I'm super active on the blogs today. I'm finding a bunch of crazy stuff. That, and I'm bored out of my mind. Again, just like the whole VF5 trailer, this could be another april fools ploy. The logo and subheading for the title seem... kinda weak. Also, take into consideration the year it's supposed to come out. 2012? uhh.... yeah. It didn't take SNK so long inbetween kofxii and kofxiii to be made. Moreover, Capcom's plans as far as their fighters is in the 2.5d direction. One could keep picking at it some more like with how the character icons are... diamonds again? I don't think they'd stick with the same style. I call "shenanigans" on this.

super street fighter situations I don't want to find myself in...

someone has a presumably final build of SSFIV and is finding all these things out. With Zangief, If you move you're done. With Ryu, well its a damn unblockable. There's much I need to practice on.

you got tekken and street fighter in my virtua fighter

So yeah... check out the new trailer for virtua fighter. lol. It's an April fools joke but a pretty good one. ^_^

Monday, March 29, 2010

mugen much?

so I'm just looking around and this trailer catches my eye. All characters (and there's a lot) have been adapted to use whatever system and mechanics this game uses so that could mean some not so overly imbalanced characters. It's an indy game but looks like a nice side project I could get into.

the secret life on spring break

I guess that title seems most appropriate.

I haven't been too active in the TvC arena in a while. I took that short week break and upon return I just wanted to get in a little TvC on the weekends when i have some free time. As it turns out, It has been yet another week where i haven't played. Oh well, really.

My attention is divided greatly. With the impending release of SSFIV, I thought I should dust the cobwebs off and practice a little. The same goes with BlazBlue, although I haven't played it since some time last year. I guess you could expect me to record some other stuff when i finally get my xbox repaired or replaced... I'm leaning towards both options. I stopped playing both games around the same time last year as you can't stop life nor would I want for that matter.

Yes my secret life is being that of a fighting game enthusiast but it's just that. I do think about matches and characters a lot more than I care to admit but that never took priority over my personage outside the confines of an online match making lobby. Although anime and games can set the imagination free, the essence of true real world interaction or even just observation does feed the soul. I gripe about what happens when I go out with friends but what's more important is I am out.

How industrious I am in various areas dictates how much time I can (or want) to allocate to playing games. Saturday was full of stuff I needed to attend to but Sunday, I opted to lounge around in the afternoon. Hope my decision doesn't disappoint anyone. Just like the tides, expect intervals high in updates and as the flow changes, spans of low activity shall pass.

Strive to become more like water... blah blah blah. Just maintain a balance in all areas of your life and things work out for the better. ^_^

stand up and fight

So I finally captured a match against JEFFREY. I really don't like fighting against this guy. Usually, he comes on later when I've finished recording for the night. All the encounters I've had with him go unrecorded unless I posted one early on that I forgot about.

He has more experience and time with the game than I have, obviously. As of this video he has over 1100 wins in free battle alone. I have never had a ranked match against him so I don't know how he fairs there. Every time i run into him its like he tacked on a few hundred more wins. Well you might be thinking that doesn't say much cuz people play for blah blah blah when blah blah blah or blah blah blah for whatever blah blah blah reason. That's bullshit cuz I face this guy a lot more than I'd care to admit. Sometimes I'd face him night after night at the same time. I never really paid much attention to his stats or whatever until the frequency of our encounters became too noticeable. One night he had 600 wins and a more than winning percentage. The next night he would have over 700 wins and a grip load of BP added and i'm like o_O. I remember jesting with my old GGPO war buddy, Sensei about how next time I see him he's going to have over a thousand wins. I think i was close and he was over 900. Question... how long do you have to play to get so many wins? FUNK DAT! GET A LIFE!

I usually admire people with high stats because I'm usually treated to some very impressive skill sets in which I am a true underdog. Sensei can attest to this and how I play Pupa in RotD also is a good representation of my own running game. I have one purely for LOLs. This JEFFREY uses it as an integral part of his formula for success. For someone who is new to the game its fairly normal to play like this. He takes it farther than any scrub can.. I hate using that term cuz for the most part I believe in do whatever is necessary to win. I think it goes beyond "faggotry" what this kid does.

Before my short break, his main team consisted of Soki and Saki. It was pretty much expected to see this team linked to the tag "JEFFREY." I remember fighting him when I first started playing online and a combination of Morrigan with Roll comprised my main team. During my evolution to all most exclusively using Jun and Chun Li, his team remained the same. I will admit he got the better of me and many nights he'd win by the slimmest of margins. Other nights I'd be soundly defeated and not gain a single win. It would just get under my skin because it would be the same bullshit I'd be up against. Sometimes after a very close loss, I would be unable to secure a rematch. The reason being that I'm on to his bullshit.

His Soki is where I've learned how to deal with a majority of them. Same L L L L L L L L bullshit. Before the break, his Soki was the aggressor, for lack of a better term, of his team. Still ran for the the hills but when one L made contact you knew a hundred more would follow. If he got into a rhythm it annoyed me. When things got too heated he'd switch to his Saki. That bitch would get the fuck out the way every fucking time. If either got trapped in a corner, they got their shit pushed in.

This recent match up caught me off guard. He switched Saki out for Polimar and even had him point man. For a moment... maybe a tiny fraction of a nano second, I actually thought he'd be agressive. Polimar doesn't seem like the type of character to run. Of course I was wrong once I got deeper into the match.

I don't know how long it took him to slightly (and I mean slightly. After all those fucking wins you'd think he'd improve by leaps and bounds.) adjust his Soki but he understands the match up against Jun. In this video you see that he crouches a lot and doesn't take the offensive like most L L L L L L L L Sokis... He's still an L L L L L L L L L Soki btw. He just learned how to baroque into more L L L L L L L. In one vid, Sensei pointed out a 10 second period where a Soki kept eating my crouching attack. Because we've fought so much, JEFFREY knows of this, hence the crouching. That didn't save him though I used to eat those overhead slashes but I've gotten better at seeing them come out.

He still runs around like a faggot even though he has the offensive edge. Super jumping, back jumping and back dashing... WTF? He had a commanding lead over me but that never deterred me. Whether he's toying with me or not, never let up in a fight unless you are absolutely sure you have the match down lock and key. Some things never change... every time he got cornered he got his shit pushed in. One other thing to note, that Polimar super I keep seeing that try to close out the match, highly unreliable.

So in closing, if any of you ever come across JEFFREY, stay calm and shut down his running game. Easier said than done but his skills and strategies fall like a house of cards when there's no where to run.

somewhat of a return

I wanted to create a new background image for my YouTube channel and an avvy for the SRK forums but I really didn't dedicate any time to that. I remembered that I have another video capture device in my closet so I fished it out. It just took a few days to find the right drivers and software for it. This cut into my design time.

With this new set up there's some ups and downs to it. The capture resolution is higher than that I was previously using. It doesn't seem such a big deal but watching the raw vid caps and it was extremely impressive. Somewhere between the raw vid and rendering the final product, I lost something. In the raw vids, nothing looks flat. That's the best way i could put it. All the depth and detail in the 3d models are all present in the raw captures but don't transfer over. It might be the contrast and brightness that mask the detail but I have to tinker with it before I get it right.

So far, post production quality and the time it takes to render the finished video are my only gripes right now. I have less wires running every which way and I could capture more clips almost instantly. I was able to record 11 videos today. All but the last one weren't up to par for viewing. More on that later. Editing is so much easier and I haven't really looked into all that i could do within the program.

Moving right along to the match posted above.

All week, I haven't played but I watched new vids people would post up. For the most part it was pretty impressive in terms how much progress the online community has grown in skill. So earlier this afternoon, I tested the waters. I said I captured 11 matches. Most of them were heavily one-sided in my favor. I think one or two suffered from major lag issues... I might post them just for demonstration purposes.

So this DRPEACE was close to me in BP hence why I posted it. I don't have anything against him or anything... I just needed to post something.

bit of a break...

I don't think I'll be entering the TvC circuit for at least a few days. I have a few things I would like to take care of until then. It's not that I don't want to play anymore. TvC just takes up more time than I would like it to. Maybe I'm just a little jaded by all the BS I see from certain places. Who knows. So no new vids or screen caps till probably the weekend if that. In the interval between now and my return, keep it classy.

mobile quit outrun wing: endless rage

I played a few casual matches against this WING. Four to be exact. The first three I posted and while I was waiting for the capture to save, I got paired up with WING again. So let Ardent get this straight WING... you and Ardent... WING and Ardent one more tahyme. do you wanna... go? well then go get Ardent a bologna sandwich cuz this doesn't concern you!

In the second match, I somehow inputed the command for a bomb super while in a super jump and right after that I changed into a crossover combination. -__-. i didn't want to do either so it made things look really funny.

This WING did pick up a few more tricks from watching my Jun but it couldn't save him. In the fourth match, he started playing really... well i didn't like it. I had a poor showing with Chun-Li so this final bout I had her boots do the walking. I could have put him away extremely fast but he switched his style around to some running game so I outran him while building meter. It was soo long cuz I put his Karas away fast and his jun wasn't holding up very well either. I got him to barely breathing and danced around him. he finally raged 8 seconds before the match could end. やれやれ。。。

what's a lag switch user?

I was checking out the SRK forums right now and I read someone called out someone else for being a "lag switch user." I think I've seen that term before pop up in some other discussion but never really looked into what it is. I could only assume there's a way to impede connections but is it really worth all that trouble just to pull out a win?

I can't stand trying to work in lag in the first place but I remember my days on kaillera and those who would use the 8 or so frame delay to their advantage. It takes a separate amount of skill to work in that environment but its gross. RotD in 5 frames of delay still annoys me. Speaking of Rage of the Dragons, I'm still waiting for some GGPO representation. I haven't played in a few months but I still have a score to settle against someone. I want no excuses for any losses on either side. Again, this goes down to integrity and principle rather than pulling out a win. People can talk their point to death sometimes and things still don't get resolved. In this case, there's only one way to get one definitive answer and I'll be sure to record it or have someone do it. (lol... some unfinished business. Sensei knows the history)

ok... get on point-- ON POINT DAMMIT!

lol

*ahem*

So as i was skimming over the last page of the TvC ragequitters thread, I saw that term stick out. In one of my recent matches (I was in the middle of rendering vids so I couldn't record this. I do have a witness though) , I came across this opponent. The only TvC community seems pretty small and you tend to run into the same people if you play at the same time during the day. I remember the name but he didn't seem to make a decent impression on me. All I could recall is that I beat him pretty soundly a few times.

What struck me as odd was I was fighting him in a ranked match. I forgot to mention, his tag is PACO... could be anybody with a name like that but his player icon always was the same so yeah. So PACO and I were in a ranked match ok... cool. Things were ok. No hint of connection failures on either side. The match began and immediately I got into my string and pushed him into the corner. It was pretty overwhelming and I was hoping to close out this match fast. Then it all went so horribly wrong. As I try to engage my opponent, the worst lag I have ever experienced hit. it slowed stuff down to a crawl. Things were fine up until that point. I couldn't move my characters with any type of reaction. Blocking wouldn't happen or jumping or any movement on my end yet he was able to move to some degree. special moves started getting pulled out of nowhere from his end while i couldn't even block a jab if i wanted to. While this happened I just figured he must be torrenting something and its messing with the connection. Then the frame rate started to pick up as he started landing stuff but as soon as I started my offensive strike and pinned him down again, the lag kicked in. It did that serveral times during the match and It seemed too suspect to be a coincidence that the ebb and flow of the lag would be in some kind of synchronization with the pace of the battle. It irritated me cuz i built up enough of a lead that I had to win by a timeout. I was infuriated.

I took a few moments to cool down and then I headed to the free battle side of things. Low and behold, my next match up is against PACO. the rage came back with a vengeance and I wanted to make sure I got a clean and clear victory. The match started and sure enough the same shit happened. As soon as I would gain an offensive edge, frame rate dropped down to next to nothing but as I would regroup and wait, the connection returned to a playable state and he'd be on the offensive. I remember I beat him again but i don't recall in what fashion.

Network issues are limitless so he could have just had some connection woes. I don't know. From my point of view, it seemed like things were being tampered with. If he somehow contacts me saying what the problem was then ok... nothing to be really worked up about. BUT if he is fucking around with whatever a lag switch is its such a dirty tactic to try to squeeze out a win.

Sigh. I remember Sensei and I were in a 4-player MvC match on kaillera and some guy started spewing out that the game kept desyncing. I know it happens but even his partner was like wtf are you talking about? He was trolling hard and it wasn't pretty.

I guess that ends this rant. PACO... you got some 'splaining to do.

california rest in peace!

With a name like Dani California, the day was going to come when I was going to mourn ya... and that day is today. Ragequit on me twice. I'm sure this is exactly how DANNI bolstered up his BP. I thinking to myself, no way this kid is worthy of all that BP... he has over 5000.

I caught him with evidence that he's a terrible player this time. I'm not the greatest but I have enough respect to take a loss. I think i said it earlier that I'm not all that worried about gaining or losing BP. My win percentage always stays under 50% and I don't mind I just want a good fight. This kid though... The first time I fought him, Jun's boots walked all over him. Check the screen cap below. To my surprise, I was paired up with him in my very next ranked match.

I guess i was still a little hot under the collar so I lost two or three straight to him. No big deal as they were more my errors than his skill. Either way a loss is a loss and I took them and prepared for the next one. The final match I had against him, I know he picked Chun-Li out of spite just because in the previous matches, Jun wasn't pulling the team and Chun-Li came very close to cleaning house each time. I wish I linked that super in the air... I usually never miss and when i saw him just barely above me, it was heartbreaking to see Chun Li whiff by the smallest of degrees. Either way. I beat him and he didn't like it so he thought he could get back at me for ragequitting.

It's never about the BP or the win with me. It's about having the decency to not be a spoiled brat. He took away some BP that can always be gained back but what I take from him is the integrity of his name. That's something not easily recovered if it is possible in the first place. He stained his own image and that's his bad.

by the way, I tried to say...

"I'll be there, waiting for..." DANNI to ragequit? Dammit... that's not it... that's not it. I think it should go something like "Dani the girl is singing songs to me beneath the marquee..."

aya on organization...

sigh... im trying to clean up my YouTube channel... it looks all messy. I just put all my RotD vids in one playlist and I intend to group all my videos accordingly... I just wish there was a neater way of doing so. -_-

sigh... at any rate, I'll also try to come up with some kind of new layout.

K...did you ever flashy-thing me?

yeah i've been busy with other stuff... I haven't updated with new entries about new matches I had. This one was from a few days ago. This person lives up to the tag cuz whoever it might have been was gone in a flash. ha ha... -_-

I really don't remember too much about this match cuz I didn't even realize I put a quick end to his Karas.

a bad win

I'm not proud of this one. I got the win alright but my opponent stopped moving right after my Chun-Li died. It just felt soooo wrong. I narrowly escaped the loss but it just bothered me for the remainder of the match. I was confused. There wasn't any signs of connection problems either. I just kinda panicked when he started moving "....eh?!?!" all anime like. -_-

Then he stopped being so aggressive and started using that gun thing. I completely forgot he had that move and that added more to my disoriented state of mind. All in all... I feel bad even though it's a win under me.

dabbol ragequits

This happened a few nights ago. I should probably check the dates of the images to get an exact date. A big thanks goes out to Sensei for screen capping these guys for me. That's right. Better watch out before you see a "mac run through your windows." >_>

This could be just a bad connection but there were no signs of network breakdown. I started one string and I think after i messed up the finish, this appeared. I'll have to fight this person again to get a straight answer I suppose.

Now this one is another story altogether. KATSU●K is a... i don't say this too often... *ahem* KATSU●K is a MASSIVE FAGGOT. I know he fucking raged. right when I finished my string it paused for a second. Thats all I needed to know before I was greeted by this lovely message. What's irritating about it is that it was a ranked match and I wasn't doing so hot this night. I fought him maybe a few matches earlier and he beat me. I took the loss better than him. A loss is a loss no matter how many excuses one makes. So hats off to him cuz I couldn't find a work around from his play style.

After a night of fighting against a bunch of Rolls... I love Roll btw. It just hurts to see something similar to how I use her used against me. Ok, back on target. I learned how to deal with them so by the time I had this unexpected rematch against this... you fill in the blank..., I'd had my fill of getting my boots cleaned. I didn't stomp him out but I was in control for the whole bout. I've dealt with Sakis before so it wasn't too difficult to dispose of her. It was Roll I was adamant about destroying. After that happened, it put a lot of pressure off of me and I disposed of Saki fairly quickly. I wish I recorded this match but Sensei is my witness on this one.

A bucket of camel piss has better integrity than this kid. I have read on various forums that some higher ranking players are known ragequitters but I've never experienced it myself. whoever this person is has a much higher BP and win percentage than myself. With that goes a hell of a lot more wins than I've even played overall matches. It's not going to kill you to go down 2 BP. If you are as good as your win percentage and BP says, then you could make up 2 fucking points. This is another reason why I don't understand or agree with how the BP system works for this game. You have people like this not getting punished for ragequitting. Oh well. I guess its more the principle of the matter that annoys me. I use BP and win percentage to gauge if I'm in for a good fight but if their stats are tainted, then I'm left in the dark as to how much skill is really behind those numbers.

taking on giants

I defeated an opponent with one of the highest amount of BP that I have ever fought against. The video isn't the sharpest and even on the little output monitor I use while I play doesn't show some of the information clearly. In ranked battles, this OMEGARED has just over a 66% win rate with what looks like 486 wins under his belt. He has gained 5951 battle points coming into this fight. Quite the decorated soldier.

To put that into perspective, I barely have 30 some odd wins and 1240 BP (1250 now). Once you reach a certain rank or BP, gaining more takes forever. I gained only 10 BP for this. -_-. I really don't like how the BP system in this game works. I thought it's supposed to match you up with people in your rank but I get either really high ranking opponents or people who just came online for the very first time.

I seem to be hitting my stride during ranked matches. It wasn't a OBV but I felt that I was in control for the whole match, even when he was doing his string of attacks. Despite losing around half of Jun's life early on, I never let that bother me. He could have ended Jun by letting Soki finish his super but instead tried to chip damage me to death. That's his fault. Psychologically, the loss of one of your characters does affect you to some extent. Jun had no life left but the fact that I knew that she still could move should something happen to Chun-Li really just kept me calm. sigh. i wouldn't let him kill any of my characters and I still kept on fighting when chun li had nothing left. I taunted a hell of a lot this match which is very unlike me. At the time, it felt right so i did it. ^_^

Job well done if you ask me.

just cuz i'm bored at work.

art... fascinating.

first TvC ragequit! ^_^

So yeah this is my first ragequit! I dont know... i didnt think it was that bad. The TvC community isnt that big either so i thought his name looked familiar... Then I realized I recorded a match I had with him a few days earlier.

I'm soo sleepy right now... I've been trying to post this and play TvC at the same time. I need to go to bed. -_-

initial post!

I finally came up with a damn name. I'll start molding this blog more as the seasons change.
