another lack of updates

yeah. yeah. I've been super lazy on the posting. I had a good thing going for a while but then, like I stated before, it becomes a little much to keep up with all the action.

I'm going to try to be a little more conscious about posting but I'm not making any promises. One of my 360s went down again. I'm positive that it falls within the 3% unrepairable margin. It's still under warranty from the guy who has fixed it two other times so he's going to take another look at it. This would be the fifth time it had to be fixed since I've been in possession of it. A friend of my sister's fixed it twice before but he was out of work then and I couldn't bother him for a third try. The person who I take it to now noticed that the fan is really weak and suggested I get a fan mod but the true problem may be more sinister. I'll have to talk to him at length about possible issues and see what he said. So far i think i put a little more money in this than I should have already but oh well.

So what does this all have to do with anything? Since this was my extra 360 that was gathering dust, I wanted to see if it was fixable in the first place. This new person got it up and running and has been in my room connected to my desktop for capture and streaming purposes.... well it's just more comfortable to play in my room without having to worry about someone wanting to watch something in a communal area. Since she (my 360) is rendered incapacitated for the time being, I'm that much farther behind in getting into the flow of SSFIV. It has been difficult enough to only get a few hours in on the weekends and with this new RROD, I'm set back another week, not working my core. I have yet to test out my new capture software with the 360 as she died just before I could try.

Looks like more TvC is underway. I do plan on testing my streaming capabilities once more with the new capture card if I get some downtime. It's a long weekend and life > video games. If you don't agree with me then that probably means you have trouble living yours.

people need to be open to change

So the backlash for the control scheme regarding MvC3 rages on. I just checked out the MvC3 facebook page and read a quote from Killian.

I'm getting annoyed. I'm sure a vast majority of them have not played TvC and don't really have a basis on their hate on it. I remember when I went to the SSFIV launch party, that came up and a lot of them didn't even know Zero was in the game. They haven't even tried it and yes it's strange at first but its so intuitive for being so simple. Sometime simplicity yields complexity. It feels so natural to move from normal to normal. I love the L, M, H format and i foresee less issues with tagging partners on accident and vice versa. If the controls add two assist buttons, those will work like the partner buttons. So much easier to switch out. Hold back plus whatever assist character you want and there you go or command tag and you got one hell of a chombo going on. the code named "exchange" button looks like a cool element. They might have picked that up from TvC with random launchers when you didn't call out for them. They also have some sort of other functionality. It might mean that H won't end air chombos now and you might be able to juggle more with a stronger attack.

I think people are getting all tight assed cuz they're afraid of change. That's understandable. They want things to remain the same. It felt really strange at first to play TvC but when i went back to MvC2 i so wished that game had the 3 attack layout. It's just so cumbersome. MvC3 will play like MvC2. There's no doubt about that. The controls will be alike TvC but the action and dynamics will have MvC2 spam assist, assist the spam, spam the fucking assist bullshit. Fuckers need to be happy that they're even addressing the whines. seriously people -- OMG! GTFO!

aya on the juri short anime

I don't know. I think there's a reason why the US division or the company as a whole decided not to release the anime outside of Japan. Everyone should know that Capcom likes to milk every last drop out of all properties they have and this shouldn't be any different. They've hired a bunch of people to create that short. I doubt they did that out of the goodness of their hearts and just to be part on the SSFIV project. I'm sure it wasn't cheap for Capcom to pull that off either.

So, I'm sure they will release it in some form or fashion that makes it accessible to the rest of the world. It doesn't make any sense for them to have it English dubbed yet only release it in Japan. This is assuming the English cast did work on the entire thing but why go through all the trouble to add voice to the trailer and not the whole thing?

sigh. people need to shut up already. Even if they decide not to release it (highly unlikely... people like myself would not mind paying to own a copy) it'll either be up on youtube or BakaBT will have it if they don't already do.

blah... all you whiners OMG! GTFO!

my first ragequit of SSFIV!

lol. the one time i can't get my taunt out. So yeah... Once a rage quitter, always and forever a rage quitter. Hopefully, all his ragequits will come back to haunt him one day.

cross counter FTW!

Sigh... Sensei told me that the Bison tried to ultra but all that came out was a teleport. It annoyed the crap out of me and he should have just finished me off instead of trying to go for the flashy finish. Sounds like a recurring theme with people...

sigh. I should have supered into the ultra instead. It would have ended his bullshit earlier.

control yourself... take only what you need from it

sigh... this is what happens when I wait to blog everything later. I run out of stuff to say. lol.

OMG GTFO! moment #001

I capture a lot of stuff so I decided to make my own series of moments as I do.

dabbol K.O.!

lol... maybe I'll do an audio swap and put in that Daigo vs. Justin Wong track over this one day.

10G - Road to Victory

sick achievement unlock, bro!

it's gonna be me

Since it's double blinded, the fact that it became a mirror match was by coincidence. Extra lols for song selection.

I was fighting a flow chart Ken but I haven't fought one with Makoto yet. Sensei just target chombo'd him to death. LOL. He didn't adapt very well against the same attack... he must be flow charting wrong then.

take a bow

So yeah I didn't realize how many matches we got against massacre sucks1.

Well here we go with Sensei sporting his "Issa Me! Ah Wario!" threads. I think he was just testing out colors. I also have good reason to believe he was checking to see the speed of his ultra too.

KOF '89

lol... i just picked an arbitrary year.

don't want no paper... chins

There was a picture Sensei linked me yesterday. I'll have to dig it up later but that Juri's bp isn't a good representation of the skill level of someone that should be at that amount. Sensei tore through Juri fairly easily. I guess Juri is the new Ken currently. Guy gave Dudley some problems but the third round was a clear victory.

get over yourself... it's time to learn!

Another team battle! This time, I get some action. Sensei was still testing out Dudley and I was testing out Adon right before this match. sickthink decided to stay and this is the result.

He soundly beat my Adon but that's a given since it was my second time using Adon online. After he beat Sensei, I couldn't guarantee my opponent's victory once more. Sakura was called upon again. His Sagat did his best to control space. I think he was expecting me to rush or jump in a lot. Despite every fiber of my being telling me to get in there as quickly as possible, I put some restraint. This seemed to work to my advantage. He misread my next move on a few occasions. I don't think I was baiting any time of advances but I guess he was thinking I'd move in when I didn't.

In the first round, I hit him with what many would call a "random" ultra. I knew full well he was going to try to tick or punish the EX shunpu and I guess that's about it! ^_~ During the second round, he did a better job at maintaining the distance where he had a the advantage. I also started to hesitate a bit and that ended in a loss. The final round went down to the wire I guess. He mixed up being aggressive and zoning as best he could but poor choices in trying to figure out my movements lead to seemingly "random" tiger uppercuts. He had the lead but instead of going for the kill, he kept away from me. Taking too long to finish me off leads to bad things happening. Three good normals brought him down to nothing and he assumed I would continue my assault. He threw out a very "random" ultra in hopes he could catch me trying to close the gap but was wrong. That's his bad. EX shunpu for the win. ^_^

first team battle of 5/02/2010

I don't have a "witty" title for this entry... lol.

One of many other team battles to be uploaded. This one was split due to the 10 minute time limit on youtube. I'm sure I could get away with having it a little over but I'd rather not risk wasting all that time in the initial render to go back, split the video, and wait for both to render one at a time.

I was still trying to feel my way with Adon. Sensei was testing out Dudley also. He just fared a whole lot better than me. lol.

look, this isn't fun and games HANH!

Sensei tells me that he was trying his best or something but I was highly annoyed. This is the reason why I'm probably not going to using the replay channel so much for team battles because all the fights get separated and it's a pain for me to save all of them and capture it.

At any rate, This guy stayed for a little bit actually. This might have been the third team run and he beat us the first two times. I was testing out Adon the previous times and Sensei stuck with Fei Long. He seemed to just toy with us and that kind of got under my skin.

Each time he would just quite literally throw the first round. Just would backflip and let us beat him but then he would continue to mess around. In one of the matches with Sensei, I think it was actually the match just before mine because I was second in the team that time, he would sit there and Sensei would just not do anything either. LOL. really funny now that I look back at it but it irritated me cuz he wasn't taking us seriously. So that round all they did was taunt and look like they were dancing. Eventually Sensei lost and it was my turn.

I didn't want to bring out Sakura but he was bugging me with all his bullshit. As you could see, he took the first round and actually came out to fight for a little bit. The second round was when the tide of battle turned in my favor and since then I never looked back. He still wanted to play around and just like in every game I play, you don't want to take me lightly. Go for the kill every single time because the moment you let your guard down it's over. I wasn't really focusing on getting a perfect, I just wanted to as Sensei puts it get in "dat azz." It was a definitive win and he left not long after.

there's no easy way out!

So at any rate, this MINI Pez gave me problems. He had an El Fuerte that owned me but didn't fool Sensei. He stuck around for a few matches actually but only to try to beat Sensei. His Juri beat Fei Long once but since then Sensei caught on and streaked him a few times. I lost count but this was the final win from Sensei. The next match was close but MINI Pez got the win and left soon after.

Yeah this is off of a saved replay so that's why you can't see the other fights. Needless to say, Sensei carried the team that night.

don't be so quick to walk away

As stated in the description, this is the first match video of SSFIV I uploaded! I didn't do so well as I was still in the process of finding out Makoto's range as well as the properties of her moves. Sensei on the other hand, didn't share my problem. lol. That Adon threw out way too much shit and tried to just power his way through the match.

well then... let's begin

Yeah, I'm really behind with posting and such. It's pretty demanding to do all this and I don't even know of it's really worth all of the effort. Who am I kidding? It's hard work but I'm proud of what becomes of it.

Blogging explanations is the final step but by the time things finish rendering and uploading, I'm really not in the mood to follow up. lol.

At any rate, my channel will be gearing more towards SSFIV but other matches from other games will be thrown into the mix. It's funny how some of this stuff evolves though. I originally created my YouTube channel just to rally support to get Rage of the Dragons on GGPO. If any of you are familiar with it, please request Rage to be put on there. Since then though, I've managed to pull out some old video capture devices to record other matches, namely Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. This blog was actually to document ragequits but has also risen above such.

Summer is approaching so that means BlazBlue: Continuum Shift season will get underway. TvC and MvC2 are also stuff i want to add as well as some RotD action with Sensei for old times' sake if it's possible and maybe some Garou matches should i feel like going back to that. I'm also looking into a new capture device to further improve video quality. Hopefully i could get it soon.
